2012 Resolutions & Goals
I have a feeling 2012 is going to be a great year. For starters I have built up a decent working studio compared to a year ago, and have also gained more knowledge and experience of what it takes to be a full time artist (a constant test of discipline and drive). So here I go with a new list of goals for the upcoming year.
~ Make 12 portfolio pieces. On a more short term basis the goal is to create one portfolio piece a month. (Seems much more manageable as a short term idea)
~ Get more exposure. I would like to show/sell work at six or more venues over the next year.
~ Find avenues to teach. This is a bit more of a challenge since I am working at a home studio, but its a challenge I need to find a solution to. I would like to teach at least three classes over the next year whether at my home or an arts center etc.
~ More involvement with other artist. Artist communities and workshops are a great way to get fresh ideas and feedback so my goal is to attend at least one artist workshop and also participate in a few online forums.
~ Reach 100! I have had my online store running since July 15th, and honestly figuring out the tricks of online sales has been a bit frustrating at times. While I am not even close to being an expert, I have a bit more confidence and am gonna reach for 100 online sales.
